John Wyatt Koehn
I'm a professional farrier in the Southern Colorado Region with years of Equine Lameness Prevention Organization and Natural Balance experience.
I was born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin where I found my love for horses on a small horse ranch that I worked on for two years. When I turned 18 I enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman. After two years of service the Army gave me to work on a horse assignment by the name of Turkey Creek Ranch. It was here where my love for horses grew and I wanted some way to give back to them. The ranch had a farrier team which I begged to join, it was on this team that I did a two year internship with well known Colorado and Illinois farrier Jim Becka. My knowledge also came from multiple clinics and courses through the International Hoof Care Summit, Equine Lameness Prevention Organization, and private clinics. Some of the biggest names who contributed to my success are Kerry Haugh, Jim Becka, Nolan Mynatt, Carrie Gunderman, Garrett Dillon, Roy Bloom, and Dave Farley.
